Camper operators are spread around the metro area rather than clustered at the airport, so confirm the pickup location before you book. Peer-to-peer platforms usually have the widest choice of vans in the Pacific Northwest. Provision in the city, because gateway towns near the parks are small.

The Pacific Northwest loop

• Mount Rainier: about two hours south, with high campgrounds and wildflower meadows.

Mountain roads to Rainier’s Sunrise area and the North Cascades Highway are closed by snow much of the year, so July to September is the window.
