This policy describes the cookies and similar technologies used on carrentalmatch.com and how our consent layer controls them. It matches what the site actually sets — nothing loads that isn't listed here.

Our consent layer

We use a first-party, geo-aware consent layer served at the edge (Cloudflare). In the EU/EEA and UK, non-essential cookies (analytics and the third-party rental widget) are blocked until you accept. In California, we show a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" control and honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) as an opt-out. Elsewhere, analytics apply by default.

What we use

• Consent preference (essential). A small first-party value stored in your browser (localStorage) that remembers your accept/decline choice so we don't ask again. No personal data, never shared.
• Analytics — Google Analytics 4 (optional). Sets cookies to measure anonymous, aggregate usage. Loads only after consent where consent is required, and never under a GPC signal.
• Outbound booking links. We don’t embed a booking widget and we run none of a booking site’s code, so no third-party booking cookies are set here. If you click through to one, their own cookie policy applies on their site.
• Affiliate attribution (third-party). When you click a link to a booking partner, the partner or its network may set a cookie on their own domain to attribute a later booking to us. These are governed by the partner's policy, not ours.

Managing cookies

You can change or withdraw consent by clearing this site's site data in your browser, which resets the banner. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and enable Global Privacy Control, which we honor.
