On the Strip, skip the car
The Strip is walkable (if long), the monorail and buses run its length, and rideshare is cheap and everywhere. Meanwhile resorts charge daily self-parking and valet fees, so a car mostly costs you.
When you need a rental
The best day trips are all outside the city with little or no transit:
- Grand Canyon — West Rim ~2 hrs, South Rim ~4.5 hrs.
- Hoover Dam — ~45 minutes.
- Valley of Fire — ~1 hour.
- Red Rock Canyon — ~30 minutes.
- Death Valley — ~2 hours.
